Lyceum: Country Kid to Chief of Air Force
Leo was born in 1960 into a farming family in northern Victoria. His urge to fly started in grade 3 and Air Force was his only plan. He graduated as a navigator in 1979 and flew Orions in Adelaide before completing Pilots Course in 1987 and being posted to F-111’s in Brisbane.
Leo’s career was in three parts; flying in Australia and the USA, Capability Development in Canberra and Senior Executive roles culminating in being the 25th Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force.
He retired in 2019 to see more of his family.
