This year the Greenbushes RSL is celebrating its centenary.
Greenbushes, originally a tin mining, timber and farming community, has evolved into a small but vibrant community steeped in rich history.
Given the small population of Greenbushes, a large percentage of the community joined the armed services for World War 1 and World War II. Small numbers have also joined or participated in many of the recent wars including Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan as well as many of the peacekeeping campaigns around the world.
As part of our centenary celebrations, we are hosting a back to Greenbushes weekend which includes; sundowners, parades, remembrance services, a formal dinner and several other events to entertain visitors and promote the Greenbushes RSL Sub-Branch.
As a small branch consisting of 18 members and 12 affiliate members (mostly spouses of service members, some being widowed) we would like to make these celebrations special by adding a wow factor to our reasonably bare and boring building.
We are seeking donations of memorabilia/marketing items such as flags, shields or similar items from Corps, Battalions, Regiments, Troops etc.
