Esperance ANZAC Day, RSL Manager Visits School to Thank Students

Unpublished

WA Returned Service League Operations Manager Martin Holzberger visited Esperance Anglican Community School on Thursday, May 10.

Mr Holzberger attended the school to thank the Year 9 students who helped decorate and plant crosses in the newly upgraded gardens surrounding the Esperance War Memorial on ANZAC Day.

He also thanked two students for their ‘above and beyond’ help before, during and after ANZAC Day.

Mr Holzberger presented a certificate to Nicholas Crawford who worked on ANZAC Day eve putting programs together and then came out at 3:00 am on ANZAC Day to help set up.

Mr Holzberger then thanked Esperance Anglican Community School head girl Darby Smith, who had supported ANZAC day for many years and represented her school by laying a wreath this year.

Mr Holzberger said Esperance put on a fantastic event for ANZAC Day and said the crosses planted by students from both high schools were a “nice touch”.

“ANZAC Day is a community event and I’m always impressed when I see the communities getting involved,” he said.
