The onset of COVID 19 and the cancelation of the ANZAC Day Commemorative Services due to lockdown in 2020, inspired the community driveway dawn service.
In 2021 the Light Up The Dawn service was promoted again to encourage people who could not attend Commemorative Services to participate gathering in their driveways, on balconies, in living rooms or at farm gates throughout the State.
The candlelight vigil was extremely well supported during the depth of the Coronavirus pandemic and is now set to become a new tradition for all future ANZAC Days.
In keeping with the traditional service held at Kings Park State War Memorial, people are encouraged to start their service at 6.10am.
Services similar to the Kings Park service will be broadcast by ABC radio, 6PR and 6IX and a pre-recorded service will be available for download on the RSLWA website before April 25
